Probably one of my favorite words in the world is “create.” I do feel this is what I achieve on a daily basis. I am always creating.

I know I do not create alone or in a vacuum. People influence. Media influences me. More importantly, Divine and the messages I sense within myself influence my work and help me create for both my professional work as a graphic designer, writer and personally, trying to develop this blog and other design projects. I easily have a dozen or so craft projects in progress right now in my head ruminating or half done in “project boxes.”

Creating is who we are. That meal we make with love for our family. The way we set the table. The way we dress ourselves. all that is creating… creating love, an image, a statement. Most of all it is creating a life. Our life.

My life. Perhaps I need to be ever more mindful and present when I’m creating as I think about that. Perhaps this is why being present is one of the holiest things we can do. Because it is the very act of creating to be present.

I like thinking like that. My heart feels fuller with that thought.
