This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
How many times have I extinguished my light in my life? Ugh. Number is too large. How about in the last decade? The last year? I’m getting better. I’m learning how to keep my light blazing even in the face of blowhards and winds of change and all the other elements in the world that work against me.
But the swiftest way has been to just blow myself own light out. Hide into the darkness, waiting for whoever to pass.
I think that’s what happened in my thirties. There were pretty big winds. I could hear them coming. So I turned out my light. I left my light unlit for so long in between, I think I began to forget how to light me back up.
I am literally getting this a-ha right now and the beautiful connection as to why I was called to name my blog SoulFire Adventures. Why lighting me up as become a quest of mine now before the big 5-0 comes whooshing down on me.
I want to stand in the fierce winds and dancing with a fire blazing and say “let’s keep going. I love adventure! What else awaits me. I am here. Can you see me? Can you see how I glow and dazzle and light up the world.”
For October, I’m writing in conjunction with 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes and each post is written in five minutes flat.
