I’ve been trying to meditate more lately and using a great app called “Headspace.”
One of things they mention about meditating is just to listen and observe. Not try to force myself to block anything out but rather be ever present to the sounds right now. And those sounds hearing in this moment keeps me in the present.
So I’ve begun trying to sit outside on my patio and just listen. The bright yellow leaves of my birch are beginning to fall. The wind chimes occasionally clink. I hear the wind. The small yellow bird on my tree – and I release my brain from trying to think of its name.
I listen to my dog shift on her mat. I hear my son turning pages of the big book we’re reading aloud together. I listen and hear the peace in my life. I listen and hear the love. I listen and hear the angels softly tell me that everything is enough. I am enough.
I am blessed when I listen.
For October, I’m writing in conjunction with 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes and each post is written in five minutes flat.
